Don & Vinita Padgett

Don and Vinita Padgett purchased 550 acres in Jefferson County, Illinois in January of 2011 and named the property Broom Tree Farm.  God placed a vision in their hearts to provide a place of rest for those who are serving the Lord Jesus Christ in His ministry.  The inspiration came in 2008 after the death of Joy Rose Seward, Vinita’s mother.  Joy’s life as a Godly woman and her contentment in her death led Don to realize the importance of working for the Lord and His kingdom.

Don and Vinita love the outdoors.  They have spent their lives camping, hunting and fishing with their two daughters, Rachel and Lyndsay.  They realize how God has blessed them and the need to share that blessing.  The Scriptures, in 1 Corinthians 12:12-26, tells us that the church is made up of one body but many parts. The Apostle Paul sums it up in verse 26 of that scripture, “And if one member suffers, all members suffer with it, or if one member is honored, all members rejoice with it.” Thus, the creation and opportunity of Broom Tree Farm.
